Professional EV charger installation

A fixed-wired EV charger must be installed by a licensed electrician. When you add installation to a Plusrite charger order, we organise the work through a trusted electrical partner in your area.

Installation is available for single-phase EV chargers and three-phase EV chargers at homes, workplaces and commercial sites.

What the installation covers

Your electrician will confirm the final scope for your property before work begins. A standard installation generally includes:

  • A check of the proposed charger location and existing electrical supply
  • Mounting and connecting the charger
  • A dedicated electrical circuit and required protection within the standard scope
  • Testing and commissioning
  • The relevant electrical safety or compliance certificate for your state or territory

All electrical work is completed by a fully qualified, licensed electrician in accordance with AS/NZS 3000:2018 and the requirements that apply in your state or territory.

When extra work is needed

Every property is different. Some installations need work outside the standard scope, such as a switchboard upgrade, a longer cable run, trenching, difficult access or load-management equipment.

If your site needs anything extra, the electrician will explain the work and provide a quote before proceeding. There are no unapproved extras added after the job.

How the process works

  1. Choose your charger and installation option. Add a compatible Plusrite charger and the appropriate single-phase or three-phase installation option to your order.
  2. We confirm the details. Plusrite reviews the order and passes your installation details to the electrical partner servicing your area.
  3. The electrician checks the scope. The installer contacts you to confirm the site details, access and a suitable appointment.
  4. Any extra work is quoted. If the property needs work outside the standard scope, you receive the details and price before deciding whether to proceed.
  5. Your charger is installed and tested. The electrician completes the work, commissions the charger and supplies the relevant certificate.

Residential and commercial installation

We arrange EV charger installation for houses, apartment buildings, workplaces, warehouses and other commercial properties. Commercial projects can include multiple chargers, three-phase equipment and site-specific load requirements. For a larger or more complex project, contact Plusrite so we can review the site and recommend the right approach.

Australia-wide service

Plusrite works with a network of electrical partners, including Peterson Power, Solstra, DMB and NationalON. Installer availability depends on your location and the requirements of the job. We will match your order with the appropriate provider and confirm the next steps.

Warranty

Installation arranged through Plusrite includes a 12-month workmanship warranty. The charger itself is covered by the product warranty stated on its product page.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a licensed electrician to install an EV charger?

Yes. A fixed-wired EV charger must be installed by a licensed electrician. This protects your property, keeps the installation compliant and ensures the charger is tested correctly.

Should I choose single-phase or three-phase installation?

Choose the option that matches the charger and electrical supply at your property. Many homes use single-phase power, while three-phase power can support faster charging where the site and charger allow it. If you are unsure, contact Plusrite before ordering.

Is the installation price fixed?

The option shown on this page covers the standard installation scope. If the electrician finds that your property needs additional work, they will explain it and provide a separate quote before proceeding.

How long will installation take?

The time on site depends on the charger location, cable route and electrical setup. The installer will confirm the expected duration and booking availability after reviewing your details.

What happens if my switchboard needs upgrading?

The electrician will identify the required work and quote it separately. No work outside the agreed scope will begin without your approval.

Can you install at a workplace or commercial property?

Yes. We arrange residential and commercial installations, including projects that need multiple chargers or site-specific electrical planning.

Will I receive a compliance certificate?

Yes. The electrician will supply the electrical safety or compliance certificate required in your state or territory.
