Description
The Plusrite EV Charger Cable is fully-compatible with all modern electric vehicles (Type 2/CCS2) and Australia’s established network of public AC EV chargers (Type 2). Carry it for when you need to stop and charge during your commute while away travelling, working, or during everyday activities. The Plusrite EV Charger Cable safely accepts both single and 3-phase AC power up to 22kW, giving you the versatility to charge faster where there is 3-phase power available.
Versatile and user-friendly EV charger cable
The Plusrite EV Charger Cable offers a streamlined user experience. It is compact, flexible and easy to store without taking up valuable space in your EV. The ergonomic handle is shaped for a comfortable and stable grip, providing safe and easy connection to the vehicle and charger ports. The long 7-metre length cable always ensures safe and convenient reach, without the need for parking adjustments.
The 32A 22kW Plusrite EV Charger Cable has you covered so you can fast-charge when there is 3-phase power available, to the maximum charge rate supported by your vehicle (typically up to 11kW or 22kW). This provides more flexibility and choice of charging stations when planning your journey.
Type 2 EV charger cable (Type 2 / CCS2 compatible)
Mennekes Type 2 (Type 2) is the standard AC charge connector for electric vehicles in Australia. The Plusrite EV Charger Cable features Type 2 male to female connectors allowing you to charge your EV at any Type 2 AC charging station (the male end plugs into the charging station and the female end to your EV). All public AC EV charging stations across Australia are equipped with Type 2 charge connectors. The fully-compatible Plusrite AC EV Charger Cable connects to CCS2 ports (featured on many newer electric vehicles) via the upper Type 2 AC connector.
Hard-wearing, durable design with quality parts
The Plusrite EV Charger Cable incorporates innovative design and quality construction and parts, providing reliability, durability and overall longevity for your investment. The flexible, hard-wearing cable casing is made of high-grade, heat-safe flame retardant (UL94 V-0 grade) thermoplastic. It also features copper alloy terminals with silver plating for seamless connections between the vehicle and charger and impressive mechanical lifespan (plug in/out >10000 times).
With a safe operating temperature range of -30C°~50C°, the Plusrite EV Charger Cable is suitable for use in all climates. It has an ingress protection rating of IP55, keeping your charging systems protected from dust and water and making it safe to charge your EV in the rain. It’s built tough with an impact resistance rating of IK10, designed to withstand the impact of a 1 metre height drop or a 2 tonne rolling vehicle (both the cable and connectors will not break easily!).

Frequently asked questions: Plusrite EV Charger Cable
Is the Plusrite Type 2 EV charger cable CCS2-compatible?
Yes. CCS2 charge ports (Combined Charging System 2) have a dual charging interface. The upper component is a Type 2 AC connector and the lower is a full CCS2 charge connector (for DC rapid-charging). The Plusrite Type 2 AC EV Charger Cable connects to the CCS2 charging interface via the (upper) Type 2 (AC) connector.
Where can I use the Plusrite EV Charger Cable?
New to public EV charging? Public charging stations are commonly installed by local councils and businesses at workplaces, shopping centres, car parking, parks/reserves, hotels, restaurants and more, allowing users to top up their batteries while working, shopping, dining out, during recreational activities or staying overnight.
Many public AC charging stations require EV owners to provide their own EV charger cables. The Plusrite EV Charger Cable is fully-compatible with Australia’s established network of public AC EV chargers (carry it with you and never be stuck without a cable!).
Plugshare and the Electric Vehicle Council are both excellent resources for locating public EV chargers across Australia. By using the interactive maps you can see pricing, the number of stations, power supply and availability for your state and preferred locations, while planning your journey.
While some public charging stations are free to use, others require payment to a private operator or platform. Depending on your vehicle’s charge rate and power supply (single or 3-phase), public AC charging can add between 40-100km of range per hour. The Plusrite EV Charger Cable supports both single-phase and three-phase charging.
Is it safe to use an EV charger cable in the rain?
Yes, it is safe to use the Plusrite EV Charger Cable to charge your EV while outside in the rain. It’s designed for it! It is protected from dust and water with an ingress protection rating of IP55 (keeping you and your charging systems safe) and its SAA Approved (compliant with Australian Standards for electrical safety).
Can you use a 3-phase EV charger cable to charge with single-phase power?
Yes. The Plusrite 22kW 3-Phase EV Charger Cable will still charge an EV on a single-phase AC power supply. The cable is compatible with both single-phase and three-phase power sources (so if it’s connected to a single-phase charger, it will automatically draw power only from the single active phase and work as a single-phase cable).
