Three phase installs cost more because of the additional cabling, switchboard work and circuit protection involved.

Common extras include a weatherproof sub-board setup (may be required if your existing switchboard is full or the charger is far from the main switchboard), a switchboard upgrade, a longer cable run, double storey or non-standard properties (quoted on inspection), after hours work, and three phase supply upgrades. Do I need a licensed electrician to install an EV charger?
Yes. EV chargers must be installed by a licensed electrician to meet AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules and your state’s electrical safety requirements. Plusrite installations are always carried out by licensed electricians through our trusted installer network.
How long does an EV charger installation take?
Most standard single phase installs take 2 to 3 hours. Three phase installs typically take 3 to 5 hours. Lead time from order to install booking is generally 2 to 3 weeks.
