300W Solar LED Flood Light — PLS-FL300W-6K/B

Off-grid commercial brightness with no wiring, no power bills.

The Plusrite 300W Solar LED Flood Light delivers 36,000 lumens of daylight-white illumination from a fully solar-powered system. Designed for farms, properties, car parks, warehouses and security applications where mains power is impractical or expensive, this light pairs a 65W polycrystalline solar panel with a high-capacity 96Ah lithium battery to run 10 to 12 hours per night on a full charge.

This is genuine commercial-grade hardware backed by a 3-year warranty when purchased direct from Plusrite Australia.

Why choose the Plusrite 300W solar flood light

  • 36,000 lumens of usable light. Equivalent to a 1,500W halogen flood at a fraction of the running cost (zero, actually — it runs entirely on solar).
  • Off-grid by design. No AC cabling, no electrician callout, no metered power. Mount it anywhere the sun reaches.
  • 96Ah lithium battery. Provides 10 to 12 hours of nightly runtime after a 6 to 8 hour solar charge.
  • Built-in dusk-to-dawn sensor. The light activates automatically at sunset and shuts off at sunrise.
  • Remote controller included. Switch between always-on mode and dusk-only mode, or set a 4-hour or 6-hour timer.
  • Die-cast aluminium housing. Built for Australian conditions with a corrosion-resistant finish.
  • 3-year manufacturer warranty. Direct from the importer, with local technical support.

Where the 300W solar flood light works best

The 300W model is the brightest light in our solar flood light range and is built for jobs where coverage area and brightness matter more than compactness.

Rural and agricultural properties. Sheds, machinery yards, gateway entrances, paddock access points and remote tank or pump sites where running mains cable is cost-prohibitive.

Commercial premises. Building exteriors, loading bays, side and rear walls, perimeter lighting and after-hours security illumination.

Car parks and outdoor work areas. Customer car parks, staff parking, equipment storage yards, stockyards and unsealed outdoor work zones.

Construction and project sites. Temporary site lighting where grid connection is not yet available or is impractical.

Security applications. Driveways, perimeters, sensitive entry points and any area where bright, reliable after-dark visibility deters unauthorised access. The dusk-to-dawn sensor means it runs every night without manual intervention.

How it works

The included 65W polycrystalline solar panel charges the integrated 3.2V 96Ah lithium battery during daylight hours. A full charge takes 6 to 8 hours of direct sun. Once charged, the built-in dusk-to-dawn sensor activates the LED head at sunset and runs it for up to 12 hours — comfortably covering a full Australian night through every season.

The light head and solar panel are connected by a 5m cable, so the panel can be positioned for maximum sun exposure (typically a north-facing roof or pole) while the flood head is mounted where the light is needed.

The included remote controller lets you switch between modes:

  • Mode 1 — On from dusk until the battery depletes (default)
  • Mode 2 — On 24/7 (uses stored battery during the day, recharges from solar)
  • 4H / 6H timer — Light runs for 4 or 6 hours after dusk, then switches off

Comparing the Plusrite solar flood light range

Model Wattage Lumens Battery Price Best for
PLS-FL100W-6K/B 100W 12,000 lm 25Ah $282 Smaller properties, garden sheds, single entry points
PLS-FL200W-6K/B 200W 24,000 lm 30Ah $510 Mid-size yards, driveways, side walls of buildings
PLS-FL300W-6K/B (this product) 300W 36,000 lm 96Ah $714 Large yards, commercial premises, security floodlighting
PLS-FL600W-6K 600W 72,000 lm — $990 Sports grounds, very large yards, industrial sites

Need motion-activated lighting instead? Our PLS-FL150W-6K/G/S motion sensor model pairs a smaller flood head with a built-in motion sensor for residential and security-only applications.

Need integrated CCTV? The PLS-FL300W-Camera pairs the same 300W solar flood with a built-in security camera for combined lighting and surveillance at a single site.

Installation

The 300W solar flood light is sold as a complete kit with the flood head, solar panel, mounting brackets, 5m cable and remote controller. No electrician is required for installation, however we recommend the following:

  1. Mount the solar panel on a north-facing surface (roof, wall or pole) with unobstructed sun exposure for at least 6 hours per day. Avoid shade from trees, buildings or roof eaves.
  2. Mount the flood head at the height needed to cover the target area. A height of 4 to 6 metres typically gives the best wide-area coverage with the 120° beam.
  3. Connect the 5m cable between the panel and the flood head. The cable can be shortened if needed.
  4. Pair the remote and select your preferred operating mode.

For commercial and industrial installations, we recommend using a qualified installer to ensure correct mounting hardware, panel orientation and weatherproofing of all connections.

Frequently asked questions

Is a 300W solar flood light bright enough for security use?

Yes. At 36,000 lumens, the Plusrite 300W solar flood is roughly equivalent to a 1,500W halogen flood and significantly brighter than most mains-powered LED flood lights commonly used for residential security. It produces enough light to clearly illuminate a typical commercial driveway, car park or building exterior.

How far will a 300W LED solar flood light reach?

The 120° beam angle distributes light across a wide area rather than throwing a tight focused beam. Mounted at 5 to 6 metres, expect functional illumination across roughly 200 to 300 square metres, with usable visibility extending well beyond that perimeter. Mounting height and surrounding obstructions affect actual reach.

How long does the battery last each night?

The 96Ah lithium battery provides 10 to 12 hours of continuous runtime on a full charge. In Mode 1 (dusk-to-dawn) this comfortably covers an entire Australian night through every season. In Mode 2 (24/7 operation) runtime depends on daily solar charging rates.

Are solar-powered flood lights worth it for commercial use?

For sites where mains power is unavailable, expensive to run to, or impractical (rural properties, remote outbuildings, perimeter lighting on large blocks, temporary work sites), solar flood lights are significantly more cost-effective than running new mains cabling. They also have zero ongoing power cost. For sites with existing mains power nearby, a comparison of installation cost vs. ongoing electricity savings is worth doing.

What happens on cloudy or rainy days?

The lithium battery stores enough charge from a full solar day to run multiple nights without recharging. Extended overcast weather (5+ days with minimal sun) may eventually deplete the battery, but normal Australian weather patterns provide enough recovery charge between cloudy stretches.

Can it be installed without an electrician?

Yes. There is no AC mains connection, so no licensed electrician is required for the electrical side of installation. However, structural mounting and weatherproofing should be done correctly. We recommend a qualified installer for commercial sites.

Does it come with a warranty?

Yes — 3 years from the date of purchase when purchased direct from Plusrite Australia or an authorised reseller. The warranty covers manufacturing defects in the LED head, solar panel, battery and controller.

What certifications does it carry?

SAA, CE, EMC, C-Tick and RCM. All Plusrite solar flood lights meet Australian electrical safety standards.
