Sandown Park Greyhound Track 

Project Summary

In June 2021, Plusrite supplied Castles Electrical Services with commercial outdoor lighting for installation at the Sandown Park Greyhound Track. 

Sandown Park Greyhound Track is responsible for providing adequate lighting for greyhound racing taking place at nighttime at its premises. They required a specialised lighting solution that would satisfy the following requirements and considerations:

• Visibility for racing participants – to eliminate shadows and maintain clear visibility at night 
• Safety for racing participants – to minimise the risk of accidents on the track
• Visibility for spectators – for a positive, engaging visitor experience 
• Requirements for TV telecasts – for capturing high-quality footage that is not grainy or unclear
• Aesthetic appeal – for an enjoyable atmosphere (and drawcard for visitor attendance) 
• Compliance – with local and industry regulations and guidelines
• Access and grounds maintenance – for efficiency and safe operation  

Being an established key venue of the national greyhound racing circuit, the Sandown Park Greyhound Track has a high-standard and reputation which is important for the venue to maintain.    

The Plusrite product supplied for this project was the Pandora Plus 1200W LED Flood Light (x59 pieces). LED flood lighting is a modern, high-performing commercial lighting option with capacity to satisfy the requirements of Sandown Park Greyhound Track. 

Products

The Pandora Plus 1200W LED Flood Light was supplied by Plusrite for installation at the Sandown Park Greyhound Track. The features of this product provide a good fit for outdoor venues requiring high visibility over large area spans such as sporting ovals, airport aprons and racetracks. The 1200W option was a perfect fit for this particular client.
