The Curtain Bros PNG Ltd head office and operational base is at Motukea Island in Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea. Their services include civil engineering, contracting, property development and construction, shipping and stevedoring services.
Motukea Island is a 106-hectare commercial precinct developed by Curtain Bros PNG Ltd with multiple operational and residential facilities including the Papua New Guinea Dockyard (PNG Dockyard).
The PNG Dockyard operates 24/7 year-round as a road and container terminal servicing local clients as well as business from international trade routes including Australia, New Zealand, Asia and the South Pacific.
Due to heavy industrial activity, the roads servicing the precinct sustain traffic of cars, trucks, heavy machinery and cargo. The roads are sealed (although rough in patches) with gravel edges and natural roadside vegetation.
Curtain Bros PNG Ltd required a lighting solution for a road project located near their base on Porebada Road to light up the road at night for clients, dockyard staff and the public. A solar lighting solution was required due to non-availability of mains power (there was no electrical infrastructure or underground cabling present).
Plusrite supplied 150W Solar LED Street Light (x 96 pieces), Solar LED Street Light PLS-240W (x 8 pieces) and Solar Street Light Pole (56 x 7m pieces) for the Papua New Guinea Roads project.

Our customer had pre-selected the Plusrite product and quantities, with custom specifications to suit the application. We were pleased to custom manufacture 7-metre light poles for this project to suit the required installation height of 7-9 metres (240W model). A pole distance of 10-15 metres is also required.
